KiD CuDi Releases Two New Songs Today

I've been a huge KiD CuDi fan since I first heard him like 6 years ago, and he has become pretty big in mainstream music. Well now he has kinda switched to more rock-based music, and I'm really diggin' the style. Two new songs he released today to iTunes are "Teleport 2 Me, Jamie" and "Brake", which are pretty bumpin'. I suggest getting on iTunes right now and buying these hits. I would, but my computer is busted, and I gotta get a new one soon! CuDi's album comes out February 28th and is entitled WZRD. Good work CuDi, can't wait for the album!

Short Film of the Week: Love Sick

"Love Sick" is this week's pick for Short Film of the Week. Just kind of a funny little flick here about a guy searching for love. I feel kinda bad for the dude, but he does what he can... Enjoy ya'll!

Tosh.0 Season 4 Starts Tomorrow

I'm a huge fan of Tosh.0 on Comedy Central, and season 4 starts tomorrow! Here's just that reminder in case you're excited for it too. The last season got a little gross, so hopefully it won't be the same case on this season. Here's how excited Daniel is:

daniel tosh new season starts next Tuesday! who will be the new host? what will i be wearing? so many dumb questions will be answered. eee on eee!

iGun Traffic Rampage

Here's an old video that I was reminded of randomly in my random mind. Just a good old classic video about how to overcome the stress of traffic... Well here's one way to do it.

Isak's Birthday

This is Isak Ivanic (@Vonster15). He's a cool guy, and a pretty good roomie as well. So why does he get a post on my blog all for himself? Because today is his birthday, and I hope he has a good one. I got him a slap watch for his bday present, which is kinda goofy. Happy 21st to this guy right here!

Prince Fielder to the Tigers

Prince Fielder is making beaucoup bucks as he signed with the Detroit Tigers for nine years worth $214 million. Now come on, really?? Prince Fielder is decent, definitely can hit the ball which will be a problem for pitchers in the American League this year. But unlike his name implies, he's not a great fielder... I think Pujols definitely deserved that contract, because he can pretty much do it all. I don't think Prince brings the same value to the game as Pujols, but we'll see...
One thing that sucks a lot is that the Twins are gonna have to pitch to him this season. We just don't have the pitching to win games against hitters like the Detroit Tigers have. Pretty much this deal sucks for the Twinkies, but we were gonna suck anyway this year. Really I'm not too disappointed in it, just a little shocked that Prince is earning this much money. Maybe it will work out for them, and I wish Prince the best of luck this season. Let's see if he can prove me wrong.

New Contract for Kevin Love

The Wolves re-signed Kevin Love today for a 4-year deal worth $60 million. Get paid son! That's awesome and I'm glad he got this new contract. One of the best and coolest players in the NBA and he definitely deserved this. In the game against Dallas tonight, he proved how he's earned this contract. Dropped a few threes totaling 31 points, plus 10 rebounds for another double-double.
Love joins up with my favorite guy, Ricky Rubio, to be the only All-Stars from Minnesota this year. For the last few years Love has been huge for the Wolves as a player and a leader. I'm really glad we have him and all of these great guys in Minneapolis. I hope Rubio, Beasley, Tolliver, Pek, and all of our other players will stick around a while. Such a great team with some lovable dudes this season. Again --> Congrats to Kevin Love!

Kevin Love To  fans: I'll be in Minnesota for 4 more years! Excited to see you when I get back to Minneapolis.

Short Film of the Week: Alma

It's late Tuesday night, but I still have a little time to post the Short Film of the Week. This week we have a Pixar film, that is actually quite creepy. When I think of Pixar, I'm thinking of kids movies that are fun and comical, even for college dudes like me. But this one was a little darker. Regardless, still a pretty good flick I think is worth watching. Thanks for tuning in to this week's Film of the Week!

Super Bowl XLVI: Brady's Revenge

Tom Brady & Eli Manning

Another great weekend of NFL Playoffs, and we are back to a rematch of Super Bowl XLII. This time I think Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots want to get that one back, and they are gonna come out firing. It should be another great game. The Giants defense is playing outstanding right now, especially the defensive line. You gotta believe that Jason Pierre-Paul, Chris Canty, and Osi Umenyiora make up one of the best young defensive lines in NFL history. It is gonna be interesting to see if they can give Brady some trouble.
In the end, I still gotta go with the Pats, even though I know Eli is amazing in the playoffs. It's still just too hard for me to pick against Belichick and Brady. Brady has been on fire for the last couple months and I don't see him slowing down now. With targets like Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker, and Aaron Hernandez, I think Brady overcomes the pressure he will face and can throw for a few TDs. My final score prediction: 35-13 Pats.

Dylan Owen - Keep Your Friends Close

I have been super excited for this mixtape to come out because I have been listening to a lot of Dylan Owen when I first heard "Keep Your Friends Close" when it came out for the first time. I didn't even realize it came out today so I was more than happy to find it when I just checked! Well here is the rest of the tape, and it is definitely more than I hyped it up to be. I love every song on this mixtape. It is a MUST DOWNLOAD for sure! Download it right now, right here! I promise you will enjoy! Here's the link to Hulkshare for the download:

Joe Paterno Dies from Lung Cancer

Joe Paterno has just been confirmed dead at the age of 85 after his battle with lung cancer. As head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions football program for 46 years, Joe racked up 409 wins. This is the record for a Division I football coach. He also led his team to the National Championship twice, in 1982 and 1986. It's a sad day for Penn State fans and all college football fans. Joe will be greatly missed around the football world. R.I.P. JoePa

Kevin Love is a Boss

Kevin Love is my boy! Wolves beat Clippers 101-98 last night, and they are getting ready to take on the Utah Jazz tonight. Wolves had to make a comeback in last night's game, but they were able to come together and play some great defense in the second half. Darko had a huge game also with 22 points, and he even swatted Blake Griffin a few times. Just a great game all around, and Love really stepped up. Here's his tweet after the game:

Kevin Love I appreciate the love! Felt great to get that win.

Lakers In Trouble?

Heat and Lakers fans were pumped for the game last night that featured LeBron vs Kobe. But it was all Heat in a blowout in which LeBron pretty much dominated. Well tonight, it was time for the Lakers to step up and rebound from their horrible game last night...
But LA seems to be getting destroyed by Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic right now. After scoring just 10 points in the first quarter, the Lakers have made it to halftime still trailing by 17 points. With a 28.9 FG percentage, the Lakers are struggling offensively. Kobe is definitely struggling, but we'll see if he can step it up in the second half.
Also, looking forward to the Wolves at 9:30 as they take on the Clippers. Let's go Rubio, I think we're gonna be able to handle them, as Chris Paul is gonna be out. Should be a good game though.

Terrell Owens New Team

This guy right here is gonna be back for another season of football... just not in the NFL. Owens has become the newest member of the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The small Texas team has offered Owens up to $500,000 to play this season, which I'm assuming is the highest in the league. But it should work out for the Wranglers, 'cuz really, who wouldn't wanna go see Owens play in an indoor football game? This is especially interesting for those of us from South Dakota, because we all know about the Sioux Falls Storm, that have been sort of popular around the state. The Storm will take on Owens and the Wranglers later this season. Too bad the game is in Texas, otherwise I would be buying my tickets for sure. Owens is going out on kind of a fun note here on a small-town indoor football team, and I'm wishing him the best of luck in the rest of his football days.

Future of Peyton Manning

With the new predictions coming from actor Rob Lowe on Peyton Manning's retirement, it really got me thinking about what will happen to Peyton?? Well I've thought about it, and there really are only three possible situations for him next season.
One thing that could happen is that he could be the starter for the Colts. This would probably be my favorite outcome, where Manning would basically be the leader to young Andrew Luck, who would take over the job in two or three years. I would really like to see Manning end his career with the team he was drafted by and had a great career with. I always like seeing the greats start and finish their years with the same team, showing that they are dedicated to that city.
Another possibility for Manning is that he could retire, as Lowe guessed. Although it would be sad to see him leave the game after this brutal season from the Colts, I would not be surprised, and Manning would still leave as a legend to the game. I could even see him become a coach in the very near future. Look at him up there, he even looks like a great coach. I'm a big Leslie Frazier fan, but maybe Peyton could come work with Christian Ponder in Minnesota...
And last, but also very likely, Peyton could be traded to another team. This would most likely either be the Jets or the Redskins. Outside of Luck and Griffin III, there really isn't a strong quarterback class in this year's draft. Both NYJ and Washington are gonna need to make some free agent acquisitions or trades this offseason if they want new quarterbacks. I could definitely see Matt Flynn going to one of these teams, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Manning traded to the other. I would hope he doesn't run into a Favre-esque situation to end his career, so I think would be best if he ended his career in Indianapolis. Whatever happens, I hope for the best for Peyton and his future.

What is this, Buff Guys??

Whaa?? What is this, buff guys or somethin'? Funny little clip here from GoodNeighborStuff.com that I thought would be fun to share for today. Enjoy!

Some More New Music for the Week

I got a few new songs for ya that I think are alright. I have to keep changing these new music bars, because Hulkshare can't figure out what kind of system they wanna run... but anyway here you go! A variety of nice new songs...

Shwayze - Scrooge McDuck
Shwayze released a new mixtape today called W.E.E.D. (We Evolve Every Day) and it is actually not too bad. I definitely recommend downloading that whole E.P., but it isn't going to be in my "must download" section yet... give it a few weeks. Here's my favorite from the release:

Sol - Need Your Love (Feat. Ray Dalton)
I'm starting to get used to this new artist named Sol, who just released this new jam. I'm really diggin' it. I like the style, and a nice chorus from Ray Dalton. It's something different but I think you'll enjoy.

Dylan Owen - Burn This Whole Place Down
I heard a song called "Keep Your Friends Close" by Dylan Owen a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. It was a song I actually posted on here a while back. So after doing a little research I found that Dylan is making a new album entitled Keep Your Friends Close, which will include both that song, and this new one called "Burn This Whole Place Down". He's a young kid, but he sound passionate in his songs and has a lot of meaning behind them. Take a listen and let me know what you think:

e-dubble - Last Man Standing
Hell yes, there's some new e-dub! I'm a huuuugeee e-dubble fan, and if you read this @EDubHipHop, please come do a show in Minneapolis! I will definitely be out there to support. Here's the 54th edition of his popular Freestyle Fridays. Take a listen to this new e-dubble song as he goes HAM on the track.

Dave Patten - Just For Me
Here's another cool new dude that I have just started listening to. I got this guy's name from by good buddy Walter Bickel @walterbickel. I've been listening to a lot of his stuff, cuz I love his voice. It's perfect for choruses, but this time he's doing it solo with "Just For Me". Enjoy!

Short Film of the Week: Keith Reynolds Can't Make It Tonight

I was watching some great short films today with Isak and decided that it is necessary to have a "Short Film of the Week" every Tuesday on my blog. To start this tradition, I picked my favorite from today called Keith Reynolds Can't Make It Tonight. This is an epic film that talks about what is important in life and society. I really hope ya'll like this, cuz I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Four-Chord Song is Awesome

The Axis of Awesome is an Australian comedy sketch group that totally rocks this song. I think the theory of four-chords to make a hit song is great, and these guys show it here. Just listen to this greatness song full of many hits.

Giants Crush Packers

Michael Boley doing the "discount double-check" belt after sacking Rodgers twice on Sunday: Like a boss. As a Vikes fan it is awesome to see the Packers get beat in their first playoff game this season. The Giants played absolutely out of their mind and they seem to be catching on. Tom Coughlin has got to be one of the best playoff coaches of this decade.
With the way that the Giants are playing now, I'm gonna pick them to beat the Niners this weekend. I'm also gonna go with Tom Brady and the red-hot Patriots to beat the Ravens. I'm still gonna go with the Pats as my Super Bowl pick in a rematch of Super Bowl XLII. I just can't see Brady slowing down at all, especially with all the receivers we have. But who knows? The playoffs have been very surprising so far, and I'm looking forward to some more great games.

Tom Brady

He's a boss. He threw six touchdown passes tonight. Probably the greatest quarterback in NFL history. That is all I have to say about that...
And sorry to my main man Tim Tebow. Hell of a season my dude, I wish him the best of luck in his future career.

Anthony Tolliver: The Decision Part Deux

Funny guy Anthony Tolliver on his decision to come to Minnesota and play for the Timberwolves. This video was shown to me by the one and only Isak Ivanic @Vonster15 -- hoping for a big game out of Tolliver tonight, now that he has decided to take his services to the north....

The Schticky!

Yeah, Vince is back. And this is a real commercial. #signsoftheapocalypse
I saw this commercial on this morning, and I just had to go find it online and post it. This has gotta be one of the greatest commercials made. Vince from Sham Wow brings us a new product. The Schticky! What the heck?? My favorite part is when he is talking about the "pussy shedding" and when he totally makes fun of himself for the whole prostitute issue he got involved in... Just a classic, unforgettable commercial right here.

Surgery Successful for Jeff Green

A few weeks ago I put up a brief post here: http://tyhigh5.blogspot.com/2011/12/jeff-green-to-resume-nba-career-after.html -- on Jeff Green who was going to be having open heart surgery. Well I just wanna follow up on that and let you know that the surgery went well and Jeff is healthy for right now. He is definitely looking forward to a future in the NBA and everyone should be happy for him. I would expect to be back as early as the start of next season, as his agent reports, "The doctor said he would have an easier return than if he came from an ACL injury." Here's what Jeff tweeted before the surgery:

jeff Thanks for all y'all prayers and thoughts...bout to head in, everyone say CHEESE!!!

Tim Tebow: Rematch Against New England

After a crazy game against Pittsburgh last week in the Wildcard Playoffs, the Broncos get set to take on the Patriots this weekend. Tim Tebow somehow just got it done once again and brought out the excitement in Denver. He's now getting ready to prove his critics wrong by beating the Pats in a rematch of earlier this season, when the Broncos got crushed....
I gotta give some credit to Tebow for helping his team get the win last weekend, but I still gotta go with New England. There are two quarterbacks in the NFL that are absolutely unstoppable right now: Drew Brees and TOM BRADY. It seems like Brady has kinda been under the radar lately, but he is going off on defenses. After trailing by 21 in Buffalo a couple weeks ago, he scored 49 unanswered. The dude is just crazy. I've slowly become a big Tom Brady fan over the last couple years. You just gotta love his passion and how competitive he is.
Brady or Tebow? I'd love to see either win, but I gotta go with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in this one. Regardless, it should be a pretty good game.

Jorge Posada Retires

In honor of Jorge Posada, here is one of my favorite ESPN commercials... Jorge will definitely be missed. A lifelong Yankee who played 17 season in Major League Baseball. Posada won five World Series with the Yankees in his long and great career. It sucks seeing someone like this have to leave, but all great things must come to an end. Good luck Jorge.

Pierre-Paul Predicts Win Against Packers

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul didn't exactly guarantee a win against the Packers this weekend, but he has some confidence in his team.
“We know what’s at state,” New York’s second-year defensive end said, as quoted by SportingNews.com, following his team’s 24-2 romp over the Atlanta Falcons on Jan. 8. “We know it’s one and done. We aren’t going to let that happen. We are going to go out there and give all-out effort, and we are going to walk away with a win.”
The Giants lost in a close game against the Packers earlier this season in New Jersey, so we know they can play at the same level. I'm concerned with New York's secondary taking on Aaron Rodgers and his well-rested. Here's what receiver Greg Jennings had to say about it:

Greg Jennings
The team that kept us from our potential Super Bowl in 08 is back on OUR turf now.Trust me,we haven't forgotten.Here.We....GoPackGo! #BeGreat

BCS National Championship

National Championship just started. I wanted to make my pick while the score is still even... LSU is gonna win it in hopefully a more offensive game. Should be fun to watch. There are a lot of future NFL stars playing in this game. Pay close attention to Tyrann Mathieu and Morris Claiborne in the secondary for LSU.

Andrew Luck to Indy?

No updates over the weekend, but there was some interesting news to catch up on... Sources say that Colts owner Jim Irsay plans on taking Andrew Luck with the first overall pick. This is huge news in the NFL because of what it means to the future of Peyton Manning and coach Jim Caldwell. Luck, of course, has been the number one pick on all draft boards over the year, as he has the highest prospect rating since... Peyton Manning. Now it's up to the Colts to convince Manning to stay in Indy, which is what I would expect them to do. We could also see a trade for Manning too. If I were Jim Irsay, I would definitely take Luck with the number one pick and try to hold on to Manning until he retires, which should be very soon. I could even see the Colts or another team sign Manning as a coach, because of the way he has managed games over the years. He's a quarterback who thinks just like a coach. I think that is the best way to do things in order to keep a happy fan base and win football games.
We do see somewhat of a pattern here in the Colts drafts. In 1983, the Colts drafted John Elway with the number one overall pick. Then 15 years later, with the number one overall pick in 1998, the Colts took Peyton Manning. Now, 14 years after that pick, Andrew Luck could be the next big time quarterback in the NFL. That's a pretty interesting history.
Colts fans haven't had a lot to be excited about this season, but brighter days are ahead. As a Vikes fan, I would gladly give up one year of just pathetic football to have 15 more years of success after that. I think the Colts are in a great position here, and I hope that Luck and Manning both have great futures.

2011 NFL Plays of the Year

There were certainly some great plays in the NFL this season. It's fun watching these highlights put together in the SportsCenter Top 10, so I hope you enjoy!

Chimp with AK-47

I wanted to post something today, but I couldn't think of anything... so here is an awesome video of a chimp with a gun! I'm pretty sure this clip isn't real, but I thought it was hilarious when I saw it for the first time with my buddy Dan Boadwine. I hope you can enjoy this lame post, I think it's kinda funny.

New Music for the New Year

I better get some new music up, because I haven't done it for a while. Here are some good tunes that have come out this week, so I hope you enjoy!

Skillz - 2011 Rap Up
Skillz kicks off the new year by going through what happened in 2011. If you wanna get a recap of everything that happened over the last year then you gotta listen to this. There's some pretty legit rhymes in here and the bring back some recent memories.

The Weeknd - D.D
The Weeknd is back with another good one. I'm really starting to dig this group/guy? He has had a lot of songs come out recently, including this one. Off the new mixtape Echoes of Silence The Weekend gives us this song. The singer really reminds me of Michael Jackson for some reason, I don't know if you will notice that either, but here you go!

Sean Kingston - Born To Be Wild (Feat. Nicki Minaj)
I'm not a huge Sean Kingston fan... but who doesn't love a little Nicki??! Nicki Minaj with another great verse here, and the beat is pretty awesome. I think you will really like this one.

2AM Club - Every Evening (Feat. Chiddy Bang)
And finally, a brand new song, just out today. For those who don't know about 2AM Club, they are a pretty cool new band, and you need to check them out. Here's one of their best ones, so I hope you really like it.

Packers Have Some Underrated Guys

After Sunday's game against Detroit, the Packers proved that they have some pretty good players and a lot of depth. This post is mainly a shoutout to @Vonster15 because he knows that I'm a huge Jordy Nelson fan. Yeah, even being a Vikes fan, I have mad respect for this dude. He is without a doubt a top 10 receiver in the NFL, close to the top 5 in my opinion. I think it just worth mentioning that Nelson is super consistent and he definitely makes Aaron Rodgers a better quarterback. He's definitely the most reliable receiver on that team.
Then there is Matt Flynn. It's tough to call him underrated because he has barely played in the league. But with his contract coming to an end after this season, I think it's safe to say that Flynn made himself quite a bit of money after his performance Sunday. I think any team that picks up Flynn this offseason should be satisfied with him as a starting quarterback, and I wouldn't be surprised if he were one of the top QB's in the league next season. Sorry I had give some love to the Packers, but I think these two guys definitely deserve some recognition.

NFL Playoffs 2011

The Playoffs start next weekend and they are looking exciting. Can't wait to see what happens, and hopefully the Lions and the Packers don't come away with any big victories... I got a few predictions of my own for this year:
To start off Wild Card weekend, we got a few interesting games. I think the Steelers vs Broncos will be a close one. Both teams with very good defenses, but I think the run defense in Pittsburgh will shut down Tebow, so the Steelers will win that one. The Bengals and the Texans both have had interesting seasons. They both started off hot, but with Jake Delhomme in at quarterback, I just don't think Houston will go too far, so I'm picking the Bengals in this one. In the NFC, Falcons vs Giants is another great game. The Giants can be an amazing team at times, but they have shown to be inconsistent. But I just can't pick against Coughlin in the playoffs, Giants win that one. And finally Saints vs Lions, I really can't pick against Brees, even though the defense has been shady. I think the Saints are gonna win in a high scoring game.
Then we shift over to the Divisional round. In the AFC, if I'm correct, the Bengals would face New England. I think this one could be a blowout, as the rookie Andy Dalton has no chance of keeping up with Tom Brady. Then it is a classic Ravens vs Steelers matchup. This is always a heated rivalry that comes down to the wire, and I'm gonna have to give it to Baltimore because of home-field advantage. It should be a great matchup though and I would love to see it. Then in the NFC we would have Packers vs Giants. I think this is another close one, because of the way New York played against Green Bay last time these two teams faced each other. Eli has been great in the playoffs over the years, but I think I gotta give the edge to Rodgers and the Packers. Then we have 49ers vs Saints. I'd have to say the Saints are gonna come away with this one, but the 49ers are a hell of a team, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do in upcoming years. Jim Harbaugh should be coach of the year in my opinion. So that wraps up the Divisional round.
On to the Conference Championships. Ravens vs Patriots. I gotta go with Tom Brady. He has too much passion to not make it to the Super Bowl, and I would love to see him win another. It would be cool if Ochocinco could get a ring too. Then we got Packers vs Saints. I said it earlier this season: Brees is MVP and there is no way that the Packers defense can stop him. Saints win it in a blowout.
Super Bowl XLVI - My prediction: Patriots vs Saints.... Should be a great matchup as always, and a high scoring game. Brees vs Brady, Payton vs Belichick, there is nothing better. I think I would have to go with the Pats in this game. I think Brady has shown to be back on his game this season and he has had great targets all season long. I think I'm taking the Pats mainly because it is just too hard for me to pick against Bill Belichick. This guy is a genius. Final score in this matchup - 35-31 Pats over Saints.
Even though my team is not in it for a second consecutive year, I think this should be a fun postseason to watch. Keep an eye on the passing games, because I think that is what will determine who wins games in the end. Really looking forward to these great playoff matchups.

Vikings End Season With 3-13 Record

The Vikings ended the season a couple days ago with another loss to Chicago. It was the worst season I can remember as a Vikes fan.
But yesterday we did get to see some excitement as Jared Allen closed in on the NFL single season sack record. As Allen recorded 3.5 sacks in the loss, fans watched eagerly to see if he could get the record. He finished with 22 sacks, just a half sack below the record. However, there could be an investigation on that sack record. Earlier in the season there was a play in which Aaron Rodgers fumbled behind the line of scrimmage and was touched down by Jared Allen. The play was ruled as a "team sack" and Allen got no credit on the play. I think since Allen was back there to finish the play, he should get credit and should be the sack record holder. Regardless, Jared is a beast and I'm excited to watch him for upcoming years.
Allen was also the only Pro-Bowler from the Vikes, as I think Chad Greenway and Percy Harvin got screwed. But it should still be fun to watch the playoffs this year. There are some great teams, and I'm really excited to see how the NFC Playoff picture turns out. More on that soon...

Wolves Win

Here's an interview with Ricky Rubio after tonight's win over the Mavericks. The Wolves won to snap an 18-game losing streak dating back to last season. Rubio alongside Kevin Love led the team to seal a victory in Minneapolis. The Wolves not only one, but they crushed on Dirk and the Mavs, proving that they are a much better team this year. Rubio played absolutely outstanding, especially on pick and rolls to find open guys all over the court. Another phenomenal player tonight was forward Anthony Tolliver, who made some big shots to gain momentum. Just an overall great performance by the Wolves tonight. It is great to have Barea back, and hopefully Beasley won't be out too long after injury his finger late in tonight's game. It is just awesome to see how great these guys feel about winning, and hopefully we'll see a lot more of that this season. I'm looking forward to some more Wolves basketball.

Happy New Year 2012

Happy New Year everyone! Here is a cool video that reviews the year that was 2011. So much to remember, definitely one tough year for me. But now we look forward to the future, and all the great things that 2012 will bring! Happy New Year everyone! Celebrate this great time!
