Giants are Super Bowl Champs
Congrats to Tom Coughlin and the New York Giants on winning the Super Bowl. It was a great game, Eli Manning and Tom Brady each played amazing games. Eli was money in the fourth quarter and he deserved that Super Bowl MVP award, so big congratulations to him. Really gotta give a shoutout to Justin Tuck and that New York defensive line as well. Overall a really fun game to watch and a great season for both teams. Again, congratulations to the New York Football Giants.
2012 NFL Awards Show
Before the Super Bowl gets started I just gotta give an update on how the NFL Awards Show went last night. It was an exciting night, with some great performances, especially by Lenny Kravitz. We even got to see Alec Baldwin "Tebow" on stage, which was very entertaining. So here's how things went:
Most Valuable Player: Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
MVP went to Aaron Rodgers even though I definitely thought it should have went to Drew Brees. It must have been pretty close though, because Brees was awarded the top offensive award. Regardless, both players had great seasons and I have to give a congrats to Rodgers for the award.
Offensive Player: Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints
Brees absolutely deserves this award. Just a great season in which he destroyed Dan Marino's passing record. I thought there was no way his offense could be beat, but the Niners proved me wrong. I think Brees would have been awarded with the MVP award as well if he had gotten his team to the Super Bowl. Great season Drew, congrats.
Defensive Player: Terrell Suggs, OLB, Baltimore Ravens
Terrell Suggs is just a beast. I don't know how Jared Allen didn't get this award. Probably because of his crappy team. But I don't think that should matter if you come up half a sack short of the record... Anyway, how can you argue against Terrell Suggs. This dude is awesome, and if Allen isn't gonna win it, then I'm glad that Suggs did.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers
I made a case earlier this year for Andy Dalton at ROY, but Cam is equally deserving. Just a phenomenal player and we're all looking forward to his future with the Panthers. Congrats and good luck to Cam in the future.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Von Miller, OLB, Denver Broncos
Von Miller is also another beast of a player. Everyone knew he would be in position to receive this award, but the decision came between him and Aldon Smith. Looking forward to some bright careers out of both of these guys and a big congrats to Von Miller.
Walter Payton Award: Matt Birk, C, Baltimore Ravens
I always knew that big Matty Birk was a good dude with all his years in Minnesota and I'm happy he got this award. He's a cool guy and I know he does a lot in the community. Way to go Matt and congratulations.
Never Say Never Moment: Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos
You know Tebow Time was gonna be in the mix with all the awesome games he had. He got this award for the amazing comeback he had against Chicago. Also gotta give a ton of credit to Matt Prater for hitting those field goals. You all know I'm a huge Tebow fan, so I'm really happy to see him get this award. Good work Timmy.
Play of the Year: Randall Cobb, KR, Green Bay Packers
And finally, the play of the year came in the first game of the year, as the Packers defeated the Saints. Randall Cobb took in an amazing kick return in that game which deserved to be play of the year. He's another young one so we are excited to see his future as well, although I'm hoping he has no big games against the Vikes. Good job Randall.

Flash Mob for Amateur Hockey Players
This is just an awesome video right here. Budweiser sets up a flash mob for some amateur hockey players and gives them the game of their lives. This is something that gives these guys the feeling that they were in a professional league and it is sweet to see how they react. I can't imagine being there and it looks so fun to play in that game. My favorite is the part where the game ends and confetti falls from the skies while the guys skate around and celebrate. Good work Budweiser, I will definitely be drinking a brewsk tonight because of this video.
New Music for the Weekend
I haven't done a music update in a long time, so there are a few songs you need to check out! These might be a couple weeks old by now, but I haven't heard them on the radio yet, so hopefully I'm ahead of the rush... I hope you enjoy my selections!
Skizzy Mars - Sirens
Skizzy Mars has a new song which is awesome as always! I have no idea when his mixtape comes out, but I'm super pumped for it. Look for it soon, it's called Phases and it should be one of the mixtapes of the year with what we've heard so far. For now, just enjoy this wonderful piece of music!
Kid Ink - Time of Your Life
I don't know a lot about Kid Ink, but from this song I can tell he's pretty good. I've seen his name a lot on the music blogs around the Internet world, so I think he'll turn out to be a pretty successful artist. This one right here is one of my favorites right now.
e-dubble - Grey Skies
Oh, e-dubble has a new song? Yup, that is definitely going on my blog. My boy, e-dub is just going hard once again on this one and shows how he is a white dude that can actually rap without being part of that "frat-rap" group. Not that I have anything against that, but I'm just diggin' e-dubble's style. I hope ya'll like this one.
Timeflies - Under the Sea
Timeflies released "Under the Sea" last summer and it was a YouTube hit, reaching over a million views. Well Timeflies finished up with this track by adding a couple verses and mastering the whole thing and it sounds great. Definitely check out some Timeflies music if you haven't already. Saturday Night Live Presents: Stefon
This one is for all those big fans of SNL. Here is one of my favorite clips, and probably my favorite character played by Bill Hader. Just something I find hilarious and I thought I would post on here because I randomly thought of it. Also look for Hader when he plays James Carville on SNL, that is another one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy this funny random clip!
Where is Anthony Randolph?
I have a problem right now... Anthony Randolph is not playing as much as he should. Is he injured? I haven't heard anything. Discipline? I haven't heard any of that either. All I know is that he came in that Lakers game at the end of the third quarter for the first time and totally changed the game. Where was he against the Pacers last night late in the game? The guy is a total game changer, and I think the Wolves gotta use him more. I'm a huge fan of Rick Adelman, but he's gotta learn how to use his players a little better. I don't what the deal is. I would also like to see a little bit more of Anthony Tolliver, who always seems to hit a big shot or play some good defense in every game. He's had his ups and downs, but at least throw him in there and see what he can do. Where are the Anthonys?? We played a horrible game against the Pacers last night, but we will bounce back this weekend as the Wolves play the Nets and the Rockets. We gotta get back to .500, because I think this team has the potential to be a solid playoff team. Let's go Wolves.
